Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and implementing engaging activities for residents in an assisted living or nursing home setting.
- Provide support and supervision during activities to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.
- Encourage resident participation and engagement in activities to promote socialization and mental stimulation.
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating activity programs, ensuring a variety of options are available to meet the diverse needs and interests of residents.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation and progress in activities.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a positive and supportive environment for residents.
Skills:
- Experience or knowledge in memory care, aging issues counseling, recreational therapy, or related fields is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, their families, and staff members.
- Compassionate and caring attitude towards seniors, with the ability to provide emotional support and understanding.
- Strong organizational skills to effectively manage schedules and coordinate activities.
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and the ability to assist residents as needed.
- Familiarity with assisted living or nursing home regulations and procedures.
